FAQs
What is life coaching?
Life coaching is a practical, forward-focused conversation that helps you gain clarity, work through challenges, identify what matters most, and take useful next steps. It is not counselling or therapy.
Who is this coaching for?
My coaching is primarily for dads navigating separation, fatherhood and major life change. You might be dealing with co-parenting, identity changes, confidence, loneliness, stress, overwhelm or simply trying to work out what comes next.
Do I need to be recently separated?
No. You might be newly separated, several years down the track, considering separation, or simply going through a period where life feels overwhelming and you've lost some sense of direction.
What can we work on?
Things like staying connected with your children, co-parenting, boundaries, confidence, identity, purpose, communication, loneliness, stress and overwhelm, rebuilding routines, creating healthier habits, managing what is within your control, and deciding what you want the next chapter of life to look like.
What happens in a coaching session?
We talk about what is happening for you, clarify what you want to change or understand, explore what may be getting in the way, and identify practical next steps. Sessions are collaborative rather than prescriptive.
How are sessions held?
Online by video call, so you can join from wherever feels comfortable and private.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
Start with a free introductory call. We can talk about what you are looking for and whether coaching feels like the right kind of support.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes. What you share is treated respectfully and confidentially, subject to the usual legal and safety limitations that would apply if there were serious concerns about harm.
Can coaching help if I'm feeling burnt out or overwhelmed?
Yes — if what you're looking for is practical support with the pressures in your life, understanding what is contributing to your overwhelm, creating better boundaries and routines, and finding ways to feel steadier. Coaching isn't a substitute for medical or mental-health treatment, and if what you're experiencing needs clinical support, I'll encourage you to involve the appropriate professional.
Do you use nervous-system regulation in your coaching?
Understanding how stress affects us can be useful when life feels overwhelming. Where appropriate, I may draw on practical approaches that help you slow down, notice your stress response, create space for recovery and feel more grounded. This is used as part of life coaching and wellbeing support rather than as medical or psychological treatment.
Is this counselling, legal advice, or crisis support?
No. Coaching does not replace counselling, psychotherapy, medical care, legal advice, or crisis support. If your needs sit outside the scope of coaching, I will encourage you to seek the appropriate professional support.
